I just bought a new spindle on Ebay for a Murray lawn tractor. The six point star on the new spindle is smaller than the one on the mower blade and when I put the blade on the spindle there is a lot of play. When I put the nut on the spindle to tighten the blade down there is still some play. Is this okay? It doesn't seem like it would be okay as it seems as though something will either wear prematurely or break. The spindle was about $40 so I am wondering if it is just a cheap piece of crap that I should return.
