Engine Tiger Cub Hydro Oil Filter P/N 48462-01 Issue

Replacing the Hydro Oil Filter P/N 48462-01 on my Tiger Cub and having an issue. The Filter is an OEM and it seems the threads are too deep in the Filter to thread onto the Filter Housing. I bought the Machine used and it currently has the same OEM P/N Filter on it now. Also tried a Stens Filter and had the same issue. Has anyone run into this issue?
