Okay, so I have completed a repower for my Agco yard tractor with a Briggs 42E707 engine. It powers the mower well, but I had the wouldn't start after it was warmed up problem... I installed a new magneto armature and it wouldn't even start until I pulled a plug wire off the right hand cylinder and felt for the spark. It sparked well and HIT! So I cranked it again and it hit so I hurriedly re- plugged the wire while it was sputtering and it started up! So I switched the plug with one from another 42E707 I have in the pole barn and the mower started and ran until I was done mowing with it. I shut it off and almost immediately tried to start it back up. Bingo! It starts even when it's at operating temperature! So I got a new set of Champion RJ19LMs and put 'em in. It won't even HIT now. What gives here? It'll run with old worn plugs but not with new ones. Should I not have used anti- seize? But that shouldn't prevent the ground of the plug- Honda recommends it for their car engines. This one has me baffled!
